Favorite Food
Cocolo Ramen – (Gipsstr. 3, 10119 Berlin / Paul-Linke-Ufer 39/40, 10999 Berlin)
There are two locations, one in Mitte, and our favorite in Kreuzberg where outdoor seating and the always delicious Tonkatsu are most appealing.
Dudu – (Torstrasse 134, 10119 Berlin)
The seafood plate is a must when you’re craving sushi! They have a great selection of food and drinks and it’s a great spot if you want to bring friends.
Favorite Bars
John Muir – (Skalitzer Str. 50, 10997 Berlin)
Our favorite cocktails in Berlin! It’s basically like Cheers, you always run into friends here. The staff is awesome, and the drinks are incredible.
Südblock – (Admiralstraße 1-2, 10999 Berlin)
More than a bar, Südblock is a multi-purpose facility that hosts a variety of events, has tasty and cost friendly food options, and offers a relaxed, welcoming environment. It’s centrally located so it’s always nice to meets friends there for a quick hang or longer meeting over Radlers.
Favorite Club
Berghain / Panorama Bar – (Am Wreizener Bahnhof, 10243 Berlin)
The magnificence of this legendary institution is not just hype.
Favorite Record Store
A & V Records – (Friedelstraße 7, 12047 Berlin)
This very quaint, eclectic record store is filled with used gems that aren’t featured in many of the popular record shops in the city. The staff is very friendly and its never busy so there’s plenty of time to rummage through all the selections and have a leisurely listen.
Favorite Sauna/Spa
Vabali – (Seydlitzstraße 6, 10557 Berlin)
Alinka: I’ve become pretty obsessed with Vabali and having sauna/spa days are part of my regular routine. There’s not much of a sauna culture in the states compared to Berlin so I had no idea what I was missing out on. After traveling and lots of sleepless nights, a day at Vabali brings you back to life and then-some. My favorite ritual for treating myself!
Other things we like to do
Alinka: I really love the parks, and exploring the city. A friend brought me to the Soviet War Memorial randomly when we were out for a run and now it’s one of my favorite places to go when I need quiet time to think and reflect. I love sitting by the Spree in Treptower park, and hanging out with friends at parks in the summer. Berlin has amazing parks and lakes to explore.
Shaun: I love gathering with friends for picnics in Tempelhof, a former airport, that has been repurposed as a city park. It is flat and massive with very few obstructions so you get a unique, panoramic view of that area of the city. I’m also obsessed with Primark in Alexanderplatz. I visit there at least once a week. Sometimes I only leave with a pair of €2 earrings but the trip and people watching are always well worth the effort. Pro tip, never go on the weekend!
