The DJ Cookbook asked Josh Caffe to describe a leisurely day in his native London. Here he features some dope art, music and food joints. Enjoy!

I’m pretty much useless to anyone until I’ve had breakfast. Before heading to the studio I’ll pop here.

1. Breakfast – Sunday

Tucked away in Barnsbury is a tiny little gem called Sunday. They do a great brunch and serve pretty big portions – you’ll definitely get your money’s worth! Weekdays are better as you won’t have to queue too long (if at all) for a table.

rochellecantine — I like stopping in this spot for lunch during the summer as it’s a nice, calming place to eat outside. The actual restaurant is in a minimalist converted bike shed within the grounds of an old converted school, which is pretty cool. You can bring your own wine too! **2. Lunch –** **Rochelle Canteen**

3. Art – Barbican Centre

The Barbican is probably one of my favourite places in London. Being a Brutalist fan I can happily get lost and inspired here for hours and then check out some exhibitions and concerts. Jeff Mills feat. BBC Symphony Orchestra at The Barbican Hall was a recent highlight.

4. Pub – Nelson’s Head

The pub I used to enjoy visiting has sadly closed down now thanks to London’s out of control property prices. From the never ending lock-ins to the friendly bar staff, this place was a total gem. RIP Nelson’s Head.”

5. Record store – Phonica Records

If I have to venture into town, it’s always worth paying a little visit to Phonica and checking out new releases.

6. Vintage Shopping – Spitalfields Market

Thursday’s at Spitalfields Market is definitely still worth checking out. My favourite spot is the Richard and Cosmo wise stand. They are a father-son duo who sell battered workwear jackets, vintage smocks, designer and military pieces. They also have a brand called De Rien, worth checking out too.

7. Dinner – Salvation in Noodles

I’m a big fan of Vietnamese food. On my way home it’s always a treat to stop off at Salvation in Noodles with my boyfriend. It’s a tiny little restaurant on Balls Pond Road and they do great authentic Vietnamese grub. Waiting time is never too long even on weekends.
